What should I consider when choosing my favourite tile?
It can be a lot of fun choosing a tile, thinking about the transformation you want to create! If you are tiling an area that will carry frequent heavy weight, you will need a good quality tile (ie. porcelain).
If the tiles are more for cosmetic purposes, there is a wider variety of tiles available (ceramic and porcelain are popular choices).
Consider whether the surface could get wet and be slippery (for example if the tile is outside, you can purchase non slip tiles with a slightly textured surface).
There are specific tiles for walls (they are usually smaller in size).
When you have made a decision on your tiles, get a quote for the installation. It is useful to have a quote as there may be other costs involved such as waterproofing to prevent rot to wet areas and tile and slate underlay that needs to be put down before tiling on wooden floors.
If you choose Rick for your tiling, he may be able to organise a discount on the purchase of your tiles if they are bought though him. To locate your local branch of Tile Direct, click here to view their website, or alternatively to find out about tiles at the Tile Warehouse, click here.
